Anyone who likes expert level bidding polls and play contests definitely should visit Richard Pavlicek's 'Polls and Contests' webpage. Each month (until 2007), there was a new event to participate in, containing 6 problems (maximum score = 60). One can still solve past events and turn to the associated analyses afterwards. That way, one can compare one's performance against the past top and average scores.
There used to be both bidding polls and play contests (alternating each month), but bidding polls were discontinued after 2006. Each month, a new leaderboard was published. It was ranked by the average of a participant's 4 highest scores of the 6 most recent (same type of) events.
I participated in the bidding polls from 2002 to 2006. After that, I completed the earlier (2000 to 2002) bidding polls. My best individual result was 58. My best worldwide leaderboard result was 54.50 (23rd place). I only participated in the play contests from 2002 to 2003. My best individual result was 51.
